When it comes to being at our best, keeping a positive state of mind is crucial.
Think about how your life is different when you have a positive attitude. I am sure you are more energize and focused on opportunities. You probably get along with people better and manage stress more effectively.
Simply put, life goes more smoothly when we have a positive state of mind.
Of course this is easier said than done right? That is why having ways to elevate our state of mind is so valuable.
I share with you a few DAILY PRACTICES to help ELEVATE YOUR STATE OF MIND.
1. Nourish your soul each day
What do you do to nourish your soul each day? On a daily basis take some time to feed your spirit. This may be through meditation, yoga, prayer, use of a mala or some other form of spiritual practice. Whatever fits your belief system do it. Take just 10-15 minutes to nourish your spirituality.
2. Write a gratitude list
Cultivating positive emotions is the best way to build immunity to a bad mood. Gratitude is one emotion to start cultivating a better mood. A gratitude practice such as writing a gratitude list each day, or writing a gratitude letter can help keep you in a positive state of mind. Give thanks for the day ahead of you!
3. Fill your mind with positive messages
From the moment you wake up in the morning, think about what ideas your filling your mind with.
How would your life change if you started reading a daily devotional or inspiring article? How about listening to uplifting music? How can you start filling your mind with positive messages?
4. Surround yourself with supportive people
We don’t always notice how contagious other peoples’ emotions are. If we are around negative, discouraging people it will eventually rub off on us. Find supportive and encouraging people that you can interact with as often as possible.
5. Stay Active
Exercise and taking care of our physical health has more influence on our mental health than many people think. If there is one habit that improves our mood and enhances our overall health and wellness it’s exercise. Shut off your phone, set aside the computer, turn of the TV and go outside. Take in some fresh air and nature.
6. Eat good food
Try to be mindful of what you put in your body. Notice your water intake and make a habit of consuming fruits and vegetables daily. Good food makes you feel good. When you feel good, your mind is more likely to be elevated and positive.
These are just a few ideas to help you stay in a positive state of mind. There are many more disciplines that can help you, so keep exploring how to nourish your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
